Last week marked an important milestone for our operations in Kenya, as our team welcomed senior leaders from Changan Automobile for a visit focused on deepening our partnership and aligning on the next phase of growth.

The visit brought together senior leaders from both organisations, including Francis Agbonlahor, Managing Director, Inchcape Africa, Marion Gathoga-Mwangi, Managing Director, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and Andrew Caie, Regional Marketing Director, alongside a senior delegation from Changan - Jia Lishan, Vice General Manager, Changan Group, Chen Guang, Chairman, Dayang Motorcycle, Ao Yan, Key Account Director, Changan, Xu Yisheng, Senior Manager, Chenzhi Group and Sheng Xianjie (Jory), Vice Sales Director, Changan MEA.

Showcasing progress since launch

A key focus of the visit was to review the progress made since Changan’s launch in Kenya and to demonstrate how the brand is being brought to life in-market.

Discussions covered commercial performance, customer feedback, and growth opportunities, while also highlighting how Inchcape’s model, combining strong local execution with global capabilities, is enabling the brand to establish a solid foothold in the market.

The delegation also visited our showroom, where they experienced firsthand how the Changan brand is presented to customers and how our teams are delivering a high-quality, consistent customer experience.

Bringing the customer experience to life

A highlight of the visit was time spent with key customers, offering the Changan team direct insight into how vehicles are supporting real business needs across different sectors.

Together, the team visited, Stanbic Bank Kenya, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Power China and AVIC.

These visits showcased how Changan vehicles are being used in day-to-day operations, reinforcing the relevance of the product offering and the strength of the partnership in delivering practical, customer-focused solutions.

A strong partnership in action

The visit was a clear demonstration of the strength of collaboration between Inchcape and Changan, and how we continue to create value for our OEM partners.

By combining our deep understanding of local markets, established customer relationships, and global scale, we are supporting our partners not only in entering new markets, but in building sustainable, long-term growth.

It also also provided an opportunity to align on future priorities and growth plans, ensuring both teams are focused on the same strategic objectives as we continue to scale the brand across the region.

“I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made together since launch. This visit was a powerful reflection of what strong collaboration can achieve, from building the brand in-market to delivering real value for customers every day.” - Marion Gathoga-Mwangi, Managing Director, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
